my "re-union" dinner was with me bestie soya bean irene & her family (whom i havent seen in over 6 years!) we had steamboat dinner & watched this fucking funny taiwanese variety show on telly. thank jah my mandarin is okay. no subtitles!! my bestie decided we'd pop by kwan yins temple to pray before braving the krowds down chinatown. channel news asia estimates 200,000 were gathered. it was insane!!!




this is the first i've lit 3 joss sticks & prayed to kwan yin. irene was telling me the temple gets krazy alittle later. apparently the first devotees to place their joss sticks into the urn at the stroke of midnight get bonus "brownie points" in prayer. but the risk of getting prodded & burnt by the hot amber tips is a given in the mad rush. so we were quite happy to miss out on the hysteria & prayed early. in the meantime heres wishing everyone  新年快乐.可能您所有的愿望成真!!
